The Sales Consultant develops deep, long lasting relationships with customers that lead to an increase in sales, service, and loyalty. Delivering extraordinary service requires each Sales Consultant to have expertise about the product in their home department and products throughout the store. Sales Consultants aspire to sell a minimum of $1MM per year and are on full commission which makes their earnings potential unlimited. Upon reaching a volume of $1MM, Sales Consultants are equipped with additional clienteling and customer development tools.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Sell the entire store and wardrobe customers from head to toe
- Develop long term customer relationships by engaging customer
- Cultivate new customers and introduce to Holt Renfrew
- Keep abreast of fashion and style trends and translate this information into advice for clients
- Focus on the customer – who they are, what they like/dislike, determine needs and preferences, etc.
- Demonstrate product and style expertise, specifically how it will help satisfy the customer's needs
- Perform floor recovery, visual merchandising, price change, and related sales support tasks
- Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
- Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.
- Perform other duties, as assigned
The ideal candidate:
- Proven ability to exceed sales targets
- Knowledgeable of wardrobing and styling techniques
- Expertise in establishing customer relationships which translate into sales; is empathetic
- Skilled at the emotional aspects of a sale; connects with customers and leverages relationships
- Highly collaborative; working with and through others in a team-oriented environment
- Entrepreneurial, competitive, self confident, and self-motivated
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
- Able to work a flexible work schedule based on the needs of the customer that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
- Minimum of three or more years experience in a commission sales environment
- Prior retail sales experience in a luxury environment preferred

To offer extraordinary service, each Sales Consultant must have the necessary skills regarding the products in their home department and throughout the store. They have the ambition to achieve sales of at least $1MM per year and will be fully compensated by their commissions, representing potentially unlimited earnings. When they achieve annual sales of $1MM, the Sales Consultant receives additional clienteling development tools including an Annual Performance Incentive (API) and an annual allowance to provide unique experiences to their clientele.
Specific responsibilities include the following, without limitation:
- Sell all store items and dress customers from head to toe
- Develop long-term relationships with customers by establishing dialogue with them
- Discover new clients and introduce them to the world of Holt Renfrew
- Stay updated on fashion and style trends and transform this information into advice for the clientele
- Focus on the client – who are they? What do they like/dislike? Their needs and preferences, etc.
- Demonstrate skills inherent in products and style, particularly how they will satisfy the client’s needs
- Replenish stock on the shelf; perform visual merchandising, price changes, and related sales support tasks
- Observe all health and safety policies and requirements
- Perform other tasks assigned to them
The ideal candidate possesses:

- An ability to manage the emotional aspects inherent in the sale; establishes links with the clientele and takes advantage of their relationships
- A highly collaborative attitude; likes to work with others and through them in a team-oriented environment
- An entrepreneurial, competitive, confident, and self-motivated spirit
- The ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment that requires a high level of multitasking skills with minimal supervision
- The ability to work with a variable schedule depending on the needs of the client, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
- At least 3 years of experience in a commission sales environment
- Previous experience in the luxury retail industry, preferably
