This position reports to: Engineering Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Bid Manager, you will support customers to improve efficiency, save resources, and reduce emissions that give our work a powerful sense of purpose. This exciting and dynamic work environment fits a communicative person with a customer orientation, as well as a high level of personal responsibility.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore or Chennai, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit, and Sales organization directives.
  • Being the single interface towards customers and ensuring timely and proactive communication.
  • Responsible for the bid during the whole sales phase, from lead until signing the contract.
  • Setting up and collaborating with ABB group functions, such as Legal, Finance, Taxes, and Insurance.
  • Using experience and understanding to add to the Bid plans and decision-making as the tendering process evolves.
  • Coordinating with the procurement team and maintaining support from internal and third-party suppliers.
  • Analyzing project proposals and cost plans and preparing for risk review.
  • Defining cost for the proposed solution and communicating to the Sales organization.

Qualifications for the Role

Minimum 10 year's experience in the energy industries.

Experience in engineering and project execution is an advantage.

Ability to work independently, but with a strong team-oriented attitude.

Good communication skills.

Preferably experience in solution sales or project management.

Knowledge about market requirements and standards within the industry is positive.
