The Senior Manager, Sales Training position supports the US commercial business and resides within the US Commercial Operations organization at Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC).

As a Senior Manager, Sales Training, you will oversee ADC's training programs for the various Sales Teams within the US Commercial Organization, including but not limited to training around Disease State, ADC and Competitive Products, Selling Skills, Sales Enablement Tools and First Line Leaders.

This role is based in Alameda, CA and, per Abbott's policy, employees are expected to work onsite 5 days/week for regularly scheduled work hours.

What You'll Work On

Lead ADC's Sales Training department.

Lead and develop a team of National Sales Trainers to provide training and development for new hires, field sales representatives, key account managers and sales management personnel to ensure development of skills and product knowledge necessary to achieve sales and margin goals.

Provide Strong Project Management to ensure successful and timely execution of multiple training priorities to meet the department's goals.

Collaborate with Marketing to translate strategy and sales direction into specific workshop deliverables for National and Regional Sales Trainings.

Collaborate with Regional Sales Directors and Regional Sales Managers to identify training needs.

Partner with outside vendors to support Sales Training deliverables.

Assess effectiveness of training programs via surveys, quizzes and feedback from the field.

Collaborate with the Regional Sales Training team, Medical Science Liaisons, select field representatives and managers to design, develop and deliver field training programs.

Stay updated on industry trends and training best practices, including technologies such as A.I.

Required Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree

10+ years of experience in life sciences, including sales, sales management and 3+ years in sales training.

Proven experience managing and developing teams.

Proven experience designing, developing and delivering training to sales teams.

Proven experience routing training materials through regulatory/copy clearance process.

Familiar with modern training platforms such as Allego or similar

Must be able to:

Effectively work with variety of individuals and at all levels of management to gain consensus on program development / delivery.

Quickly learn about new products and markets; determine best-selling and training approach to deliver to area field sales organization.

Integrate a variety of inputs on training approaches to develop appropriate and effective training programs.

Demonstrate excellent communications to ensure all stakeholders are kept abreast of key activities in development of training programs.

Effectively communicate with field sales management team and be able to assess product and selling skill training requirements.

Continuously assess training requirements and implement changes in training programs to reflect requirements; assess both long and short-term training requirements.

Evaluate variety of training methodologies and concepts; must be able to see training needs and then model successful representatives or regions for implementation to the other regions.
