Abbott Clinical Specialist

Abbott Clinical Specialist provides technical, clinical, educational and sales support to ensure safe adoption and growth of Abbott. To provide TEER technical support to physicians during cases and device implant and to meet sales target assigned. The sales specialist works closely with implanting teams, surgeons and the Abbott field organizations to drive procedural and practice success. Assist in identifying priority centers, providing rationale as to why they fit the Abbott SH clinical/commercial criteria for development and become the front line partner for customer interface.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently support MitraClip/Portico clinical research and commercial cases to an expert level including all aspects of cardiology and cardiac surgery with an emphasis on TEER and all technologies, the application of theoretical principles and troubleshooting techniques.
  • To be conversant in all aspects of TMVR/TAVR and to be able to effectively communicate the rationale of using Abbott SH MitraClip/ TriClip/ TAVI technology in all applications.
  • Provides field support for Abbott SH Program, including educational program, training activities, clinical research cases, and commercial implants.
  • Leading or assisting with training of study staff on the requirements of any Abbott study as directed by the clinical team.
  • Attend procedures to support the study as required, and continually work with the clinical team in support of study needs to meet organizational and cross-divisional objectives.
  • Creating collaborates as required with the Clinical Research Department on clinical data collection requirements, investigator training needs, and trial execution and compliance.
  • Assists in the planning and training as required for new product launches.
  • To serve as a TMVR/TAVI expert to Marketing and Clinical on the development of training materials in support of commercialization of pre-CE mark devices.
  • Maintains expert status and continuing clinical and technical proficiency in product expertise that goes beyond features and benefits, focusing also on design, development, clinical application and competitive positioning.
  • To provide a link to global marketing Education Customer Training.
  • To serve as a technical conduit for clinical investigation sites to the MitraClip/Portico Clinical team.
  • Provide technical support of SH products in HK & Macau and Responsible for achieving commercial sales targets for HK and Macau.
  • To maintain all aspects of commercial activity, including KOL relationships, monitoring competitor activity and pricing, working in a collaborative and cross functional manner within TW/HK.
  • Able to operate commercially with both clinical and commercial customers.
  • Obtain market Intelligence such as competitor product, pricing, marketing programs etc.
  • Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary education degree.
  • 3-5 years successful direct sales experience in a fast moving industry, where product cycles are short (medical).
  • Demonstrate an ability to absorb technical knowledge quickly and disseminate appropriately to all levels of healthcare professionals.
  • In depth product and industry knowledge.
  • Imaging interpretation experience (TTE or TEE, CT & Angiograms).
  • Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Project management skill.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Passionate and self-driven.
  • Excellent presentation skill.
  • Proficiency in writing, reading, listening and speaking English.
  • Weekly report submitted in timely manner.
  • Team player, and must be able to work independently as well.
  • Positive thinking with great working attitude.
