The Territory Sales Representative closes sales through face-to-face interaction with customers based within assigned sales territories. They meet with potential and existing customers to present sales proposals and inform them of product benefits and features. The Territory Sales Representative will play a key role in increasing distribution and display activity by managing and negotiating with clients, research sales competition, qualifying prospects and managing sales of products and services. Responsibilities include conducting professional product presentations to current Retail customers, stimulating market growth through new distribution and coverage in independent Retail C-Stores that are supplied by cash & carry and c-store distributors in assigned geography, evaluating customers skills, needs and building productive long-lasting relationships, achieving sales goals and brand building presence and merchandising, attending meetings, sales events and trainings to keep abreast of the latest developments, assisting customers with ordering information and configurations; providing quotations on customer requirements and providing appropriate follow up, utilizing iPad technology for reporting all inventory/sales made daily and weekly, performing any other appropriately related duty as requested by the Sales Manager, being able to drive a company van (Ford Transit, Connect or similar) throughout the work day, managing cash and client product inventory, and ability to follow navigation/directions, communicate, and solve customer challenges that might arise.
Qualifications include the ability to bend/stoop/squat/kneel throughout the workday, the ability to push/pull/reach/twist throughout the workday, the ability to lift up to 30 lbs., the ability to push/pull weight up to 50 lbs., a high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience required, strong interpersonal, organizational skills with the ability to work effectively with team members, peers, management and external customer contacts, the ability to read and follow a plan-o-gram (POG), good problem-solving skills, the ability to use an iPad/Tablet, trip planning skills and comfort with driving a commercial van (Ford Transit Connect or similar), and sales or consumer goods experience a plus.
