Outside Sales Representative

Join a dynamic and growing team as a Construction Equipment & Tool Sales Representative. This role requires a proactive individual who excels in building strong relationships and driving business growth within the New Haven, Fairfield, and Lower Litchfield Counties. With a focus on the construction industry, this position offers an opportunity to be a trusted partner for contractors by providing high-quality equipment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand an existing client base across designated territories.
  • Prospect and establish new client relationships through cold calling, site visits, and networking.
  • Follow up on qualified leads provided by the inside sales team.
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess client needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and negotiate agreements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for account management and customer service.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery, service, and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in outside sales, preferably in construction equipment or a related field.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to travel regularly to client sites across Connecticut.
  • Clean driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with construction tools and equipment is a plus.
  • Experience in a client-facing/customer service role for at least 1 year.
  • Proficiency in Excel or CRM software.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Tech-savvy individuals with 2-5 years of construction equipment sales experience are preferred.

This role involves on-road traveling with occasional office or home-based work as needed. The representative is expected to visit the office once a week. This is a Permanent position based out of South Windsor, Connecticut.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $50000.00/yr.
