The Director International Sales is responsible for implementing strategic sales goals in the sales segments and territories they oversee to accommodate corporate goals in the food, feed, and nutritional industries. The Director International Sales sells the organization's products using technical, organization, and customer knowledge to influence customers resulting in revenue generation. The Director International Sales will also manage and develop their direct reports to sell the organization's products in the same way.

What's involved in this role:

  • Identify customer needs and develop product applications to support the Sales Team.

  • Gather and coordinate information from internal teams and member groups.

  • Prospect and cold call potential customers; build and maintain a customer list.

  • Conduct market research to inform product development and sales strategies.

  • Follow up on leads and evaluate product fit based on customer technical needs.

  • Stay current on industry trends and technical developments.

  • Build and maintain industry relationships to generate business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Sales Team to maintain strong customer communication.

  • Coordinate with departments like R&D, QA, and Finance to support sales efforts.

  • Set sales goals and manage distribution channels.

  • Work with leadership to refine company programs and strategies.

  • Mentor and train sales staff; manage performance and development.

  • Develop and maintain sales and marketing plans; contribute to forecasting.

  • Prepare reports and analyze sales data for planning and budgeting.

  • Deliver sales presentations and proposals; represent the company at trade shows.

  • Close deals, negotiate pricing, and meet revenue targets.

  • Collaborate with production and finance to optimize operations.

  • Manage employee relations, hiring, training, and performance reviews.

  • Implement departmental goals and ensure policy compliance.

  • Travel as needed, both domestically and internationally.

  • Participate in committees and ongoing professional development.

  • Manage local sales office operations if required.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and support safety protocols.

  • Report and address safety hazards and support safety initiatives.

What you need to join our team:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required.

  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in a sales position within the Food Industry required.

  • Minimum three (3) years of Management or Supervisory experience required.

  • Bilingual – English and Spanish: Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish. Able to communicate effectively with diverse clients, colleagues, and stakeholders in both languages.

  • Previous experience in Key Account Management preferred.

  • Knowledge of the overall International/US powder market and International/US dairy industry preferred.
