Alera Group was founded in 2017 and has grown to become the 14th largest broker of U.S. business. We are passionate about our clients' success in the areas of Employee Benefits, Property and Casualty Insurance, and Financial Services. With a network of offices nationwide, our commitment to collaboration allows us to offer national resources combined with local service.
About the Role:
This role is for someone who can walk into a room as the smartest pharmacy person there and still make the client feel like the hero. You are not just managing accounts. You are shaping how employers think about their pharmacy spend, which for most of them is one of the fastest-growing line items on their P&L.
As a Pharmacy Strategic Account Executive, you will serve as the primary advisor to employer groups and Alera Group partners, helping them navigate PBM contracts, benefit design, formulary strategy, and cost management in a market that gets more complex every year. You will be the person clients call when something breaks and when they are planning for what is next.
This is a consultative role with commercial responsibility. You need to translate clinical and actuarial complexity into decisions that make sense to a CFO, a head of HR, and a benefits committee. You will help close deals, retain clients, and grow revenue, but you will do it by being genuinely useful, not by selling.
The foundation of this practice is built. We have clients, credibility, and a clear value proposition. What we need now is someone who can take that and scale it.
Who Thrives Here
Why Join Us
Most pharmacy consulting roles ask you to execute someone else's playbook. This one asks you to help write it.
We are growing inside a $1.6 billion brokerage platform with thousands of employer clients who do not yet know what we offer. The internal distribution opportunity alone is significant. Add a strong external market presence and you have a book of business that can compound quickly if you work it right.
You will have real autonomy, real clients, and real accountability. You will not be waiting for approvals to move. You will also have the support of a team that has deep clinical, analytics, and operational bench strength behind you.
If you want to build something, have the clinical expertise to back it up, and are ready to operate at a level where results are the only currency that matters, this is the right seat.

We will also consider candidates with a BS in Pharmacy or a related clinical degree combined with substantial PBM or consulting experience. Industry designations such as Certified Consultant Pharmacist (CCP) or Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) are a plus. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is a minimum baseline for candidates without a clinical credential.
