Description
We are currently seeking a Sand and Gravel Sales Representative for our Ferris, Texas office to service the North Texas Area. This position involves promoting and coordinating sales activities alongside a dynamic team of sales representatives in which you will utilize data-driven insights to optimize performance and drive sales in the aggregates market.
Day to Day:
- Develops sales plans and seeks and gathers information to identify opportunities to expand or improve market position.
- Assists with the development and execution of long-term product strategies that support sales projections.
- Responsible for inventories in assigned territories.
- Assists with new products and price setting.
- Contacts and maintains existing or potential customer relationships; resolves and/or refers customer problems to the appropriate function.
- Promotes satisfactory customer relations by working closely with internal and external customers to ensure prompt service to customers.
- Accountable for development and understanding of state, county and municipal bid letting procedures, engineering and design processes, project material specifications and material testing specifications.
- Conducts local sales and market surveys.
- Promotes Company products and materials to engineers, architects and other specifying authorities.
- Communicates with other areas and groups within Company to promote goodwill to assist with establishment of common goals.
- Keep informed of changes in assigned responsibilities which may affect product sales, contract procedures and product prices.
- Develops forecast on anticipated market sales by gathering, evaluating and presenting to management all market information regarding company products and/or opportunities to include in development of new productions.
- Participate in community and social activities that enhance Company's position in sales.
- Maintains records; prepares and submits reports on sales activity.
- Responsible for understanding the Company's production plant capabilities, efficiencies and cost to ensure maximum service to customers.
- Responsible for the timely collection of monies owed to the Company and provide lien data to the credit department as appropriate.
- Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
About You:
- Required work experience: 5+ years' experience in sales & marketing, prior experience in mining industry preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of aggregates and construction materials, including proficient knowledge of customer uses of our products (i.e., sand, gravel, etc)
- Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree, comparable experience may be substituted for preferred degree.
- Field of study preferred: Business, sales, marketing, construction management
- Positive, Team-based attitude
- Knowledge regarding pricing strategies and sales forecasting
- 3 to 5 years B2B Sales Experience preferred
- Knowledge of aggregates production including quality control
- Strong interpersonal communication skills - verbal/written to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- Knowledge of material standards within the construction industry.
- Must be a self-starter, who works with little supervision.
- The ability to join and participate in industry-related associations and present the Company in such activities.
- Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
- Travel requirement: ability to travel locally and regionally. Overnight travel may be required.
Working Conditions:
An Aggregate Sales Representative often works in an office environment with regular interaction with customers but may also spend time at the company's facility or at customer sites, potentially encountering outdoor conditions and materials handling.
