Lead Sales Representative

The Lead Sales Representative serves as a frontline leader responsible for driving sales performance, mentoring team members, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role combines direct sales responsibilities with team coordination and operational oversight.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Provide daily guidance and support to the sales team.

2. Delegate order and assign work tasks to the Sales Representatives, including stocking shelves, pulling orders, and cleaning.

3. Facilitate training of the sales team and ensure all training modules are completed timely.

4. Ensure end of day tasks are completed.

5. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking.

6. Collaborate with warehouse and vendors to track deliveries and ensure efficiency.

7. Deliver expert product knowledge and solutions to customers.

8. Directly responsible for all customer special order procedures.

9. Find the correct parts application in either the published NAPA catalogs or computer cataloging system.

10. Resolve escalated customer concerns with professionalism.

11. Prepare sales slips or sales contracts. Receives payment or obtains credit authorization.

12. Examines returned part to determine if defective or core, and exchange part or refunds money.

13. Fills customer orders from stock. Whenever necessary, order parts as requested by the customer. Advise customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.

14. Work and assist to improve profitability and success of stocking dealer accounts utilizing all resources.

Education And/Or Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent certification.

2. Four (4) years of experience in automotive parts sales or related field.

3. Proven leadership in a customer-facing role.

4. Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.

5. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

6. The ability to speak and understand the Inupiaq language is important and preferred but not required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

The work environment is in a busy store, office, or outside setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, may frequently be exposed to extreme cold, and occasional exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. The incumbent may be required to travel in small and large commercial fixed wing aircraft.
