Sales Representative

Join a dynamic team focused on selling both new and used forklifts, as well as other material handling solutions, within the Western New York region. This role emphasizes business development and building strong relationships with new customers to enhance warehouse efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell new and used forklifts across the assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new customers throughout the Western New York region.
  • Prospect and reach out to new clients through cold calls, networking, referrals, and inbound inquiries.
  • Assess customer needs to recommend appropriate solutions that enhance warehouse efficiency and safety.
  • Customize solutions based on client needs, warehouse layout, and operational goals.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to meet clients, conduct site visits, offer demos, and present solutions.
  • Quote pricing and prepare proposals for equipment sales, rentals, and service contracts.
  • Collaborate closely with service, rental, and parts departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Schedule appointments and manage travel to client sites efficiently.
  • Track sales activity using CRM tools or internal systems.
  • Educate clients on OSHA-compliant training programs and safety standards.

Essential Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience in sales or a related field.
  • Experience in sales, business development, and manufacturing.
  • Strong skills in outside sales, cold calling, lead generation, customer service, outbound calls, negotiation, and prospecting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Industry experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in selling similar materials is an advantage but not required.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems is a plus, but training will be provided.
  • A college degree is preferred, but relevant experience is valued more.
  • Excellent communication skills, confidence, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to learn the product and competition, and be self-driven.

Work Environment:

The role is based out of Rochester, with the main office located in Buffalo. The company provides a car and gas card for travel. The work environment is collaborative, with low employee turnover, and a positive company culture where employees care about customers and each other. Training will be provided, and there's a significant opportunity for growth as the territory has never been split before.

Job Type & Location:

This is a permanent position based out of Rochester, New York.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
