Job Description
The objective of the Lead Sales Rep, US Packaging is to drive profitable revenue initiatives within Fastener Solutions (FS). You will act as a front-line contact in building strategic relationships primarily engaging target end-users and distributors in the packaging market, along with other value chain influencers; to drive market- and new product- development programs to closure in line with divisional priorities. This position is responsible to increase share within the market by executing top line sales goals, while crafting strong customer alliances as valued promoters of Avery Dennison. The role is a remote position that would allow for remote work from anywhere within the US.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and lead programs to grow the Fastener Solutions Business, primarily in the packaging market. Generate ideas, complete market analyses, and lead priority commercialization programs with cross-functional teams (Marketing, New Product Development, Finance, Operations, Logistics, Customer Service, etc.).
- Responsible for all commercial account activities identified within the territory.
- Focus on new business development with targeted end user markets/applications. Grow the distributor base business. Strengthen and renew relationships in the strategically focused packaging market channel.
- Represent the Fastener Solutions commercial catalog to target customers in the region.
- Display competency in sales/commercial development through the entire value chain by influencing specifications and gaining end user support.
- Accountable to deliver sales consistent with budgeted profit and selling expenses.
- Uncover and assess true customer needs, while aligning solutions based on value by providing product recommendations, demonstrations, technical support, and problem solving.
- Report back effectively on competitive intelligence within the region
- Communicate ongoing forecast demand as well as unusual fluctuations which may impact service to customers.
- Lead customer negotiations and the development of long term contracts and supply agreements.
- Develop a keen understanding of market conditions (e.g., current customers, potential customers, competitors) in assigned territory, and develop a strategy to achieve revenue goals while actively identifying new accounts using screening techniques, referrals, and prospecting to potential customers within territory.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Marketing, Business or similar field required
- 4-5 years of commercial experience in field sales or new business development
- Passionate about the "hunt" for new opportunities.
- Attested skills in uncovering sales opportunities, actively attracting the interest of potential customers, networking to increase contacts, and staying on top of market conditions to uncover new leads.
- Committed pursuit of customer happiness. Strong bias to adding new value for customers and growing customer dedication.
- Strong Teammate. Able to work effectively engaging internal cross functional resources.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills. Experience in communicating with all levels of management on complex business issues.
- Knowledge of Industry, products and applications.
- Strong financial skills and business acumen.
- Skilled in conducting territory analysis and planning.
- High energy, self-motivated, goals/results oriented. Able to effectively operate in a remote-from-HQ location.
- 50% Minimum travel expectation.
- Candidates can be located anywhere in the continental US so long as they have reasonable access to an airport #LI-Remote
Preferred:
- Salesforce.com CRM experience preferred

The base salary range for this position is $85k- $113k/ year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
