As a North America Contracts Risk Manager, you will negotiate contract terms and conditions with customers while maintaining compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment for all North America region:

  • Managing complex sales processes and proposals involving many stakeholders on the client side and internally including Technical, economic, logistic, and financial teams.
  • Negotiating contracts with customers and assuring alignment/approvals from Baker Hughes side.
  • Working collaboratively and cross-functionally, providing leadership and strategic guidance in a matrix environment to drive optimal contract negotiation results and minimize risk through coordination with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal and Compliance
  • Validating risk and reward balance, considering factors such as terms and conditions, technical risks, margin, security of payment
  • Driving commercial compliance, including commercial process and contracts risk management
  • Exhibiting strong expertise in the development of risk mitigation strategies that consider identified triggers in RFP's and customer T&C's while meeting business objectives
  • Analyzing/evaluating terms and conditions and lead contract negotiations, engaging with customers to close deals
  • Recognizing contract essentials and escalate issues for appropriate resolution
  • Developing negotiation strategy, anticipating and removing obstacles to closure
  • Support the team analyzing Purchase Orders wording.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (law or engineering).
  • Have a minimum of 5 additional years of experience in Risk Mitigation or Commercial.
  • Strong communication skills at all business levels including senior leadership;
  • Strong financial management skills;
  • Ability to travel as needed;
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Be fluent in English (oral and written) and have excellent all-round communication skills. Portuguese and Spanish are desirable.
  • Have significant experience in a Sales/Commercial role, with preference for contract risk management.
  • Be committed to customer service and have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Have good commercial acumen, negotiation experience and ability to coordinate several deals simultaneously.
