Outside Sales Representative

Compensation and benefits include a total compensation range of an average of $120k per year with uncapped earnings, 401k with up to 5% employer match, 100% health premium coverage for individuals, dental, vision, accident, critical illness, group & voluntary life insurance, unlimited PTO, and 100% paid family leave up to 12 weeks.
Job Purpose:
Outside Sales Representatives deliver a differentiated experience for our installer partners by understanding the full scope of their customers' needs and recommending tailored solutions that leverage our products, services, and logistics expertise. By providing informed, objective insights on solar-electric (PV) systems—including competitor offerings—they help position us as the preferred solar and energy storage distributor. Their work supports our mission to drive stable, long-term adoption of renewable energy through trusted partnerships and innovative solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute sales strategy and action plans to achieve business goals and revenue targets.
- Establish, build, and foster meaningful business relationships within your region in collaboration with other team members.
- Participate in sales blitzes and other sales and marketing events to produce impactful results.
- Accountable for decisions that support BayWa inventory health and customer needs (win/win deal making).
- Recognize the scope of our services and the uniqueness of the methods, products, and systems we employ to better drive customer partnership and retention.
- Stay on top of industry trends and the strengths and weaknesses of competitors in the market.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager and operations team in the region to demonstrate the resources and expertise of BayWa to clients during the sales process to ensure confidence in the value and competence of the team.
Qualification Requirements:
- Highly organized and self-directed. Able to manage priorities and make fast decisions.
- Able to build relationships with local solar installers through prospecting, cold calling, and networking effectively.
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management, ability to stay motivated and drive results.
- Display professionalism in appearance and mannerisms.
- Ability to hit monthly revenue targets and hold oneself accountable for doing so.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- At least two years of solar B2B sales experience.
- Experience in the distribution space a plus.
- Spanish speaking a plus.
- Deep understanding of the solar industry and the products currently on the market.
- Technically and digitally competent.
- Able to legally work in the U.S.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Comfortable with CRM software—checking inventory, logging activities, etc.
- Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
- This position will require up to 60% travel within your region.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
