Business Development Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team in Italy. The BDR will play a crucial role in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, initiating relationships with potential clients, and supporting the sales team in achieving revenue targets for SS&C's innovative financial technology solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Proactively research and identify potential clients within the financial services industry (e.g., corporates, PE, financial and legal advisors) using various tools and resources (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, industry databases, CRM, etc.).
  • Outreach & Engagement: Execute targeted outreach campaigns via email, phone, and social media to introduce SS&C's offerings and generate interest.
  • Discovery & Qualification: Conduct initial discovery calls to understand prospects' business needs, challenges, and current technology landscape, qualifying leads based on established criteria.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and prospect interactions within the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Collaboration & Handover: Work closely with Account Executives to seamlessly transition qualified leads, providing comprehensive background information and insights.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and SS&C's product developments to effectively position our solutions.
  • Performance Reporting: Track and report on key metrics, including calls made, emails sent, meetings booked, and qualified opportunities generated.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a business development, sales development, or inside sales role, preferably within the financial technology (FinTech) or enterprise software industry.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in Italian and English (both written and spoken) is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales Acumen: Strong understanding of the sales process, lead qualification, and objection handling.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly grasp and articulate complex technical concepts related to financial software and services.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is highly desirable.
  • Motivation & Drive: Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams including sales, marketing, and product.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand client needs and propose relevant solutions.
