The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and executing the overall sales strategy for the Warwick Rittenhouse Hotel, a landmark luxury property in the heart of Philadelphia. This role drives top-line revenue performance through proactive sales efforts, market segmentation strategy, team leadership, and strong collaboration with revenue management and operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on sales leader with strong market knowledge, proven results in group and transient sales, and the ability to position a historic luxury hotel competitively in a dynamic urban market.
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to maximize room revenue, group business, corporate negotiated rates, and transient production
Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, ensuring accountability, productivity, and professional development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, group, SMERF, leisure, and consortia segments
Maintain and grow relationships with key clients, accounts, travel managers, and industry partners
Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to align pricing, forecasting, and market strategy
Conduct regular sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and performance analysis
Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, site visits, and industry functions
Monitor competitive set performance and adjust strategies accordingly
Ensure accurate use of CRM systems, reporting, and forecasting tools
Prepare and manage the sales budget and contribute to annual business planning
Partner with hotel leadership to align sales initiatives with overall operational and guest experience goals
Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales leadership experience, preferably in a full-service or luxury hotel
Strong knowledge of the Philadelphia hotel market preferred
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue goals
Experience managing sales teams and driving accountability
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with hotel sales and CRM systems (Delphi, Opera, or similar)
Ability to analyze data, trends, and performance metrics to drive strategy
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
