Job Description
At Brightspeed, we connect people and communities by offering best-in-class fiber internet and telecommunication services. As a Small Business (SMB) Local Sales Representative, you'll be responsible for prospecting and closing sales through face-to-face interactions for potential customers. You will also manage customer accounts and assist with basic internet installations, ensuring a seamless experience.
As an SMB Local Sales Representative, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Proactively engage with prospective local SMB customers through door-to-door, face to face, by phone and local networking efforts to close sales. Leads will be provided to support these efforts.
- Conduct needs-based consultative sales presentations, recommending Brightspeed products (high-speed fiber internet, landline phone, etc.) that fit customer needs
- Complete all required documentation (sales orders, dispositions, etc.) accurately and in compliance with Brightspeed's guidelines
- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly sales quotas for high-speed fiber internet and other Brightspeed services. This includes meeting daily field KPI's such as door knocks, contacts, presentations, time in the field etc.
- Stay informed on Brightspeed product offerings, industry trends, and competitor activities to provide relevant insights to your manager
- Perform initial product installations, including setting up internet routers and connecting devices to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Actively participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and contribute to team success
- Be prepared to work in all weather conditions; work will include flex hours including evenings and weekends to maximize opportunities for customer interaction. Must be physically capable of walking for long periods of time as part of the door-to-door sales process.
Qualifications
What It Takes To Catch Our Eye:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a passion for face-to-face selling and delivering excellent customer service
- Ability to perform basic technical setups (internet router installation and device connection), with training provided
- Strong personal drive and self-motivation, with a tenacious attitude towards achieving sales targets
- Proficiency in using digital tools and devices (smartphones, tablets, routers, Wi-Fi extenders etc.)
- Ability to travel frequently and work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Bonus Points For:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of direct sales experience, preferably in business sales
- A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Experience in telecommunications, internet services, or a related field
- Familiarity with networking basics, including router setup and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Proven track record of sales success in a quota-driven environment
Physical Demands:
- Most of the time in the role will be spent working with the sales team in the field, with exposure to various weather conditions during field visits. Minimal time will be spent in an office environment.
