Consumables Sales Manager

This role is responsible for selling mainly consumables (PREPAC® WashCloth and OxyDry) to new and existing customers within a defined region through market analysis, frequent travel to customer sites, reviewing customer operating requirements and assisting in the development of solutions for common customer concerns or opportunities, while partnering with regional sales leaders, internal sales, engineering, product management, and service teams. The role reports to the Consumables Director (EU & Americas) and essential functions of the role include:

  • Aftermarket sales is focused on driving growth of consumables (cloth, powder) and spare parts, and other products as determined by the business to support growth of Baldwin in the assigned region.
  • Partner with accounts to identify current and future customer needs; cultivate and maintain working relationships to develop sales leads
  • Identify new market, product, and adjacent service opportunities; develop and create organizational support of viable programs for entry
  • Provide product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests; demonstrate company's product capability by preparing and conducting sales presentations
  • Negotiate terms and pricing on sales contracts; close orders to meet sales budgets and quotas
  • Coordinate sales efforts with other departments; ensure customer purchase and service requirements are being met
  • Maintain and establish new OEM relationship
  • Maintain and establish new channels for distributing our products, i.e., local agents or distributors
  • Implement necessary action to achieve the budget for his area
  • Report on customer status and issues to Consumables Leader (EU & Americas)
  • Coordinate efforts to maintain the Dynamics CRM system to reflect accurate sales activity, key contacts, account management and opportunity pipeline.
  • Conduct educational seminars at distributors on our products
  • Conduct pre- and post-installation seminars; work with field service personnel to resolve any installation problems
  • Monitor competitive activity and trends in the marketplace; determine value management/positioning of company product in the market and competitive differentiation
  • Other ad hoc project as required

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in the graphic/printing industry
  • Ability to proficiently write and speak German and English fluently
  • The ability to execute strategies focused on organizational growth.
  • Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% mainly within Europe

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Field sales experience
  • Knowledge of the graphic industry (offset printing) is preferred but not essential
  • Experience working in a matrix organization
  • Experience in consumable sales
