The Sales Outfitter performs various Selling / Customer Service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information, assistance, and direction to customers.
Essential functions include supporting a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. Demonstrates product to customers, replenishes product on shelves as required per Merchandising guidelines, and remains a product "expert" through ongoing product knowledge training. The Sales Outfitter also remains knowledgeable of advertised sales, maintains pricing and signing, assists with "seasonal" floor merchandise moves, restocks merchandise as required, and keeps the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies. Follows all Company Policies and Procedures and provides a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions.
Experience/Qualifications include a minimum degree of high school education or equivalent experience. Knowledge, skills, and ability include the ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change to customers, communicate in a friendly and professional manner to customers and other associates, establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers, and operate the computerized Point of Sale register system.
Travel requirements are not applicable. Physical requirements include constantly standing and/or walking during shifts, occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps, and constantly communicating with others. The Sales Outfitter may also occasionally repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, operate machinery and/or power tools, operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, and move and lift objects up to 20 pounds constantly, may occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed). The Sales Outfitter may also occasionally work in tight and confined spaces and work in noisy environments.
Independent judgment is required to complete work assignments, often making recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices. The starting pay rate is $16.50 - $18.75.
