Territory Manager
Were hiring a Territory Manager to join our Pet Distribution team in the LA County South, Orange County, and surrounding areas! Work in the fun and fast-growing pet industry to grow market share through sales of pet foods and supplies. Make regular in person sales calls to pet stores, develop new customers, and partner with vendors and retailers to grow sales and shelf space.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
- Sales Goals: Meet or exceed established sales targets, with the support of the Sales Manager and vendor partners.
- Nurture Retail Partnership: Treats customers as long-term partners. Be a trusted advisor and advocate for retail partners by using data to provide insights and opportunities for category growth and expansion.
- Communication: Communicate cross functionally to provide the best customer experience possible.
- Technology: Leverages technology (Tableau, SalesForce) to help identify opportunities and document interactions.
- Customer Visits: Visits all customers, in person, on a regular weekly/bi-weekly (or if approved monthly) basis. Works a regularly scheduled and routine account call list.
- Maximize Profitability: Partners with the Sales Manager to optimize pricing and profit for the company.
- New Customer Development: Actively pursues new accounts. Follows up on all activities related to setting up and building relationships with new accounts.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTE:
- Ability to persuade and influence others. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or three to five years of sales or marketing experience.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public.
- Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires a valid state drivers license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed largely within customer retail stores.
- Position requires a flexible schedule with occasional weekend and/or overnight travel as needed.

POSITION INFORMATION:
- For the first six-months you will be training and receive a fixed bi-weekly salary of $2,884 ($75,000 annually), subject to standard payroll deductions. At the end of the six-month training period your salary will be replaced with a commission plans, where your compensation will be comprised of commissions calculated as a percentage of gross profit. When earning commissions, your compensation is expected to be higher than a fixed annual salary. Further details regarding the commission plan for this position will be provided to applicants who are extended an offer of employment.
