The Senior Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through the proactive sales, planning, and execution of meetings, events, and social functions at the hotel. This leadership-level role focuses on high-value accounts and complex events, working closely with internal departments to deliver exceptional service and memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated sales professional with extensive experience in hotel event sales, strong client relationship skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales goals. This position also provides mentorship to junior team members and contributes to strategic sales planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively solicit and secure new business for meetings, corporate events, banquets, and high-end social functions through direct sales, networking, and lead follow-up.
  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts and high-revenue groups, maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
  • Prepare detailed proposals, conduct site inspections, negotiate contracts, and finalize event arrangements in alignment with brand standards and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate with the Banquets, Culinary, Engineering, Valet, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal departments throughout the event lifecycle—from planning to post-event follow-up.
  • Meet and exceed individual and departmental sales and revenue targets.
  • Utilize event sales software (e.g., Envision, Delphi, Opera Sales & Catering, or equivalent) to maintain accurate client and booking records.
  • Participate in business reviews, forecasting, and revenue strategy meetings.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and client functions.
  • Provide guidance and support to other colleagues within and outside of the sales and events department, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands to inform sales strategy.

This position has a salary range from $85,000-$95,000. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Preference for Hyatt experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in event sales within a full-service hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong background in both corporate and social event planning.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Proficient in sales and catering software systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event demands.
  • Knowledge of local corporate and social markets.
  • Prospecting and account management skills that include scheduling follow-up calls, site tours, and office visits.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously with a high level of detail and professionalism.
  • Passion for delivering personalized, high-touch client service.
