Rental Sales Manager

The Rental Sales Manager is responsible for managing rental sales activities of assigned region within the organization by performing the following duties:

Motivate and proactively assist the Rental Sales Representatives in meeting and exceeding their equipment rental, sales, total revenue and profitability goals.

Meet with customers and assist Sales Representatives with developing and maintaining relationships, determining customer needs and negotiating and closing deals.

Deliver sales presentations to key customers in coordination with sales representatives.

Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.

Direct and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories and setting individual goals.

Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.

Collaborate with suppliers to develop programs for our market that will maximize sales, profitability and market share.

Advise dealer on sales and advertising techniques.

Pro-actively establish effective relationships and support for others in achieving high performance.

Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.

Direct product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.

Act as the liaison between the Rental Sales department and other sales related departments.

Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.

Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.

Recommend or approve budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.

Supervisory responsibilities: Directly supervise assigned employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; building a cohesive, safe and fun culture/environment within the organization.

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous sales experience strongly preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite and internal computer systems). Intermediate to proficient problem solving, decision making, analytical, interpersonal, relationship building, presentation and leadership skills. Intermediate budget management skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong ability to communicate, influence, and build consensus across departmental lines. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
