Sales Executive

The Sales Executive is responsible for driving growth and accelerating adoption of Cellulant's payout solutions across enterprise and mid-market clients in Africa. The role focuses on acquiring high-value B2B customers and building strategic, long-term relationships with organizations that require efficient, secure, and scalable disbursement capabilities.

You will engage clients across fintech, logistics, gig economy, insurance, payroll, and e-commerce, providing tailored payout solutions that deliver measurable business impact. The ideal candidate combines strong B2B sales expertise, fintech knowledge, and a strategic mindset to unlock new market opportunities and scale commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Acquisition & Revenue Growth

  • Identify, engage, and qualify B2B prospects with large-scale disbursement needs across targeted verticals (e.g., payroll, refunds, claims, supplier/vendor payments).
  • Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, discovery, solution pitching, proposal negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.
  • Translate client needs into tailored payout solutions leveraging Cellulant's platform (bulk payouts, real-time disbursements, API integrations).
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales KPIs, including revenue targets, transaction volumes, and client acquisition goals.

Enterprise Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers across finance, tech, and operations teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, proactively optimizing client payout flows and expanding solution adoption.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to ensure high client satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities aligned with client needs and platform capabilities.

Solution Engineering & Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to design and implement customized payout workflows.
  • Support client teams with integration guidance (API/platform), process optimization, and transaction troubleshooting.
  • Provide actionable client feedback to inform product innovation, service improvements, and user experience enhancements.

Market Intelligence & Commercial Strategy

  • Conduct competitive and industry analysis to identify trends, best practices, and new commercial opportunities.
  • Recommend go-to-market strategies for key verticals and client segments.
  • Contribute to business cases, client segmentation, and regional expansion planning using data-driven insights.

Governance, Risk & Compliance Support

  • Ensure all client interactions comply with regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on client onboarding, KYC/AML, and contract reviews.
  • Support internal risk mitigation processes for B2B disbursements, including fraud prevention and operational reliability.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years in B2B business development, enterprise sales, or partnerships within payments, fintech, banking, or technology sectors.
  • Proven success in closing large accounts and managing complex sales cycles.
  • Deep understanding of B2B payments, payout infrastructures, and bulk disbursement workflows.
  • Experience designing or selling payment technology solutions/platforms.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of African digital payment ecosystems and regional market dynamics.
  • Ability to engage commercial and technical stakeholders with credibility and confidence.
  • Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
