Job Summary: The Senior Director – Partnerships & Growth will provide leadership and direction in expanding KGL's editorial, peer review, research integrity, broader content services, and consulting. This role combines publishing services expertise with proven sales and business development skills to strengthen KGL's position as the trusted partner of choice for publishers, scholarly societies, and research organizations. In support of KGL's business objectives and in collaboration with business unit leadership as appropriate, the individual will drive revenue growth with new and existing customers, forge strategic partnerships, and ensure that client needs are matched with KGL's innovative solutions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales and growth strategies across KGL's editorial, research integrity, and content services portfolio as well as consulting.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities that expand revenue and client reach.
- In consultation with business units, prepare and deliver proposals, pricing estimates, and presentations tailored to client needs.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales and revenue growth targets.
- Use data and market insights to inform strategic decision-making and refine business development plans.
Partnerships & Market Expansion:
- Build, negotiate, manage and support partnerships with publishers, societies, funders, and technology providers.
- Expand KGL's footprint in the scholarly publishing ecosystem by forging long-term collaborations.
- Represent KGL as a thought leader at conferences, client meetings, and industry events.
Client Engagement & Advocacy:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders in publishing and research organizations.
- Lead strategic editorial account planning and ensure alignment between client needs and KGL's service offerings.
- Collaborate with clients to codevelop solutions that enhance peer review workflows, research integrity, and full-service workflows.
Collaboration & Team Leadership:
- Work closely with Editorial, Consulting, Sales teams, and Business unit heads to align business development efforts with service delivery.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship across teams to ensure consistent client engagement and scalable growth execution.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance KGL's overall market positioning.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Publishing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in scholarly publishing, with expertise in editorial management, peer review, or research integrity.
- Strong track record of building partnerships and driving growth in publishing or professional services.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute successful sales strategies.
- Proven executive-level client engagement and negotiation experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Advance degree is a plus.

- Proven experience in sales, business development, and driving company/product growth.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce/HubSpot) and data-driven sales management.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary, typing and managing detailed work for long periods required.

Travel Requirements:
- Frequent domestic and international travel for client meetings, conferences, and partnership development.
