Counter Salesman
Colony Tire is currently seeking a full-time Counter Salesman to join our team in Plymouth, NC! Summary
Counter Sales personnel are responsible for providing outstanding customer service to customers/potential customers by selling tires, road hazard and recommended services, benefits and product features, create long-term loyalty bonds with customers, drive sales and profitability of the store, and maintain a clean store; as well as other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Greet customers and determine what each customer wants or needs in person and over the phone
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
- Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers
- Compute sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash or credit payment.
- Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions and policies regarding payment and exchanges.
- Maintain records related to sales in the Point of Sale (POS) software
- Place special orders or call other stores to find desired items.
- Be available to drive guest vehicles.

Work Environment
The job is typically performed in an indoor environment, however exposure to outside weather conditions is not uncommon. The employee may be required to stand for long hours while working at the service counter, stools may or may not be available. The employee must regularly move or handle merchandise through the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one (1) year related experience in tire sales is preferred but not required.
