Sales Support Specialist

Sales Support is responsible for providing support to the sales team and customers during the sales process. They help customers resolve sales-related issues in a timely manner, providing real-time support. They serve as a liaison between the company and its customers by completing clerical and administrative duties for the sales team, placing sales orders, answering customers' questions, providing quotes, assisting other departments as needed, and communicating order status to customers. Sales Support is also responsible for tasks related to engaging new and existing clients, with the goal of generating sales and retaining customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable about the ERP system, products, and customer accounts.
  • Accurately enter and process sales orders in a timely manner.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, product and service questions, and order status updates.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with assigned sales consultants.
  • Proactively follow up on existing orders, manage backorders, and track lead times.
  • Maintain and update customer accounts with new information as needed.
  • Respond to customer inquiries with a high sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a friendly and efficient manner to ensure satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the sales team to stay informed about pricing and customer needs.
  • Communicate potential challenges to relevant departments for timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and complete order fulfillment.
  • Monitor customer-owned and customer-specific product inventories, flagging concerns to purchasing or production teams.
  • Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in sales support, customer service, or administrative roles.
    • Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to customer service.
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sales growth.
