Technical Sales Specialist - FTIR

This position reports to the Sales Team Lead. Your role and responsibilities include:
Planning, presenting, and helping to manage new and current ABB Analytics opportunities for our Process Analytics (PA) business in the US. The ideal candidate will be technically sound, experienced in FTIR/NIR, with working knowledge of CGA, CEMS, GC, and/or TDL technologies, well-spoken and driven to succeed in meeting and exceeding our customer's needs. The work model for the role is remote. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position. This role is contributing to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA) division nationwide in the US.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Identifying potential projects and presenting ABB Analytical Solutions that are fit-for-purpose for our customers.
- Growing ABB's Process Analytics business in conjunction with ABB's go-to-market strategy.
- Monitoring market trends and recommending adjustments for the strategy and plans accordingly.
- Communicating the end user value proposition for Analytics (internally and externally).
- Responsible for achieving key targets for Analytics in the specifics Regions and/or nationally.
- Ensuring major accounts are identified and prioritized. This will obviously include Account Management for accounts in conjunction with the local Account Manager.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers.
- Working closely with the relevant Sales organization to help in the identification and capture of future business.
- Identifying and managing potential risks relating to contract agreements and prices across segments.
- Reporting by segment to accurately measure progress and using common tools to identify future opportunities.
Qualifications for the role include:
- Associates Degree in technology with combined 5+ years' experience in instrumentation.
- Experienced in FTIR/NIR with solid understanding of CGA, CEMS, GC, and/or TDL technologies.
- Solid understanding of Analytics including but not limited to GC's, FTIR, Tunable Diode Lasers, CGA, and CWA.
- Ability to design solutions particular to the customer's needs while driving ABB products into the solution.
- Up to 35% domestic travel required, international maybe once per year for training.
