Sales & Use Tax Accountant

Our client is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Accountant to join their team and play a key role in supporting and building their sales and use tax function. This is a hands-on position focused on multi-state compliance, audit support, and day-to-day indirect tax responsibilities. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns
• Prepare and file personal property tax returns
• Support sales and use tax audits, including documentation and responses
• Research sales and use tax laws and regulations across multiple states
• Assist with the selection and implementation of sales and use tax software
• Maintain accurate tax records and supporting schedules
• Identify process improvements and compliance efficiencies
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• 5–7 years of sales and use tax experience
• Experience supporting or participating in sales and use tax audits
• Strong background in multi-state tax compliance
• Comfortable working in a less structured, entrepreneurial environment
• Detail-oriented, hands-on, and proactive
