Job Overview

The Vice President of Strategic Sales Initiatives will lead the development and execution of sales strategies to drive growth in the Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) business. This role is responsible for identifying market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, optimizing sales channels, and ensuring alignment with overall production goals. The VP will collaborate with the sales, product, marketing, and operations teams to deliver innovative solutions, enhance customer acquisition, and expand market share in the home equity lending space.

What You'll Do

β€’ Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Lead HELOC sales growth initiatives across Wholesale and Correspondent channels.
  • Build and manage pipelines of qualified leads through strategic outreach, referrals, and networking.
  • Partner with sales leaders and account executives to define targets, expand market share, and deepen relationships with brokers and lenders.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to elevate brand presence.

β€’ Product Development & Market Alignment

  • Collaborate with product development teams to design, refine, and launch HELOC and second-lien offerings.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to shape product enhancements and competitive positioning.
  • Design frameworks for counterparty adoption, covering product rollout, training, compliance, and marketing integration.
  • Partner with marketing on go-to-market campaigns, HELOC brand messaging, and sales enablement tools.

β€’ Cross-Functional Leadership & Enablement

  • Lead HELOC training programs for Deephaven sales teams and approved counterparties.
  • Partner with underwriting, credit, and operations to streamline loan processing and ensure efficient execution.
  • Develop sales service models tailored to loan officers, ensuring alignment with customer and partner needs.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of leads, opportunities, and partner activity in CRM systems.

What We Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8–10+ years of combined experience in mortgage lending, product development, and sales leadership, with significant expertise in HELOC or home equity products.
  • Proven success in building sales pipelines, driving adoption, and expanding market share within wholesale and correspondent channels.
  • Strong knowledge of HELOC products, competitive landscape, and second-lien lending structures.
  • Experience partnering with product, marketing, and operations teams to bring new products and initiatives to market.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with brokers, lenders, and counterparties.
  • Data-driven decision maker with proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce experience strongly preferred).
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, partner engagement, and industry events.
  • Flexibility for remote or hybrid work; Charlotte, NC preferred for the right candidate.
