Purchasing Specialist

Are you a master negotiator with an eye for detail and a passion for driving smart purchasing decisions? We're looking for a Purchasing Specialist who can make every transaction count! We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchase & Sales Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Wilmington, Delaware. This role requires a proactive individual who excels at managing procurement processes, vendor contracts, and purchase order activities. You will play a vital role in ensuring seamless operations while adhering to company guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate requisitions to confirm adherence to the purchase order process, ensuring proper creation and timely dispatch to suppliers.
  • Examine vendor contracts to verify inclusion of accurate specifications and compliance with signing authorization policies.
  • Perform purchasing tasks within the PeopleSoft system, including creating, maintaining, and closing purchase orders, as well as coordinating Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) with suppliers and internal staff.
  • Resolve customer care issues by liaising with suppliers and Accounts Payable to address discrepancies.
  • Administer procurement guidelines to ensure all purchasing activities align with company standards and policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in procurement operations.
  • Proficiency with order entry systems is required.
  • Familiarity with Ariba or similar procurement software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes and corporate procurement practices.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, including SAP, is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable functions and processes.
