The Area Manager is responsible for expanding the presence of Wellspect in Latin America, leading a network of distributors and institutional accounts in the segment of bladder and bowel management solutions. The role combines strategic vision and commercial execution: from developing business plans by market to managing relationships with key stakeholders in a diverse regulatory and cultural environment. The professional is expected to drive sustained revenue growth in the region, with autonomy to identify opportunities, prioritize markets, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
Responsibilities include:
- Management of the distributor network
- Leading and managing the distributor network in LATAM, conducting periodic business reviews to monitor performance, identify gaps, and agree on corrective actions
- Providing direct guidance and support to distributor sales teams to achieve established objectives
- Identifying and incorporating new distributors in existing and emerging markets, evaluating their capacity and proactively managing low performance risks
- Strategic development and market expansion
- Developing and executing a regional strategic plan to grow revenue and market share in the bladder and bowel devices segment, maintaining a 12 to 36-month expansion pipeline
- Conducting market research and leading the expansion into new territories, including evaluating regulatory requirements, reimbursement systems, and competition
- Market intelligence and risk management
- Monitoring the competitive environment, regulatory changes, and health reform trends in LATAM, preparing regular reports on risks and opportunities for senior management
- Building intelligence networks through KOLs, distributor feedback, and participation in sector congresses and publications
- Budget and forecast management
- Managing the regional sales budget and forecast, ensuring accurate planning and early identification of revenue risks
- Client and stakeholder management
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key institutional accounts, Ministries of Health, hospitals, and payer organizations in the region
- Organizing meetings, webinars, workshops, and expert circles tailored to regional needs, with a clear engagement plan for each critical relationship
- Training and development
- Conducting training sessions and workshops for distributor sales teams and healthcare professionals, strengthening product and therapy knowledge
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborating with Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Medical teams to align commercial plans with product strategies and registration timelines
- Contributing commercial vision in global strategic discussions, representing the needs and opportunities of the LATAM market
Requirements and qualifications:
- University degree in Business, Sales, Health Administration, or related field (required)
- More than 5 years of commercial experience in medical devices or healthcare, preferably in the area of continence or related therapeutics (required)
- More than 3 years managing distributor networks or multi-country commercial operations in LATAM (required)
- Proven track record of revenue growth and objective achievement in emerging or complex markets (required)
- Solid knowledge of Latin American health systems, regulatory frameworks, and reimbursement systems (required)
- Fluency in Spanish, spoken and written (required); English (highly valued)
- Strategic business vision with the ability to develop and implement plans with defined KPIs (required)
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple markets with limited supervision (required)
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder skills (desirable)
- Availability to travel regionally frequently (required)
