Division Vice President Of Operations & Sales
D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., was founded in 1978 and is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. It is engaged in the construction and sale of high quality homes designed principally for the entry-level and first time move-up markets. The Company also provides mortgage financing and title services for homebuyers through its mortgage and title subsidiaries.
D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Division Vice President of Operations & Sales. The right candidate will be responsible for assisting the Division President or City Manager in the development of financial goals and operating plans for the division. Directs the business plan and day-to-day operations to achieve desired objectives, profit, revenue, customer satisfaction and return on shareholder's equity. Devise and implement strategic plans for division growth, new markets and growing market share.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs the obligations and signature duties required by the elected office stated in the Corporate Authority resolutions
- Works with the Division President or City Manager to establish the business plan and sales goals for division profitability and growth
- Oversees the policies regarding financial management, service strategy and direction, marketing, quality and general operating methods
- Participates and implements the development of aggressive marketing, business development and expansion plans
- Works with the Division President or City manager to oversee all operations of the division, including sales, administration, production, warranty, organizational development, product design, land acquisition and development
- Review operations and performance of the various aspects of the division; works with Division President or the City Manager to take corrective action as deemed necessary to achieve goals
- Focus daily on processes and procedures to maximize resources to meet division goals and objectives
- Promote an atmosphere of accountability that focuses on quality and customer satisfaction
- Modify and implement sales strategies for improvement based on market research, competitor analyses and identifying prospective customers
- Review market and competitive analyses to determine customer needs, price ranges, sales campaigns, product and community features
- Collaborate with the marketing department to create advertising and campaigns, establish support, and partner programs
- Devise incentive programs to motivate sales team to achieve sales goals
- Evaluate sales representatives for training needs to promote growth and success to achieve their potential in obtaining company sales objectives; maintain positive atmosphere for success
- Resolve conflict between construction, sales representatives and customers
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to travel overnight

- Constantly monitor market, identify trends and support the Division President or City Manager to react quickly
- Ensure division compliance with all company policies and procedures and enforce all established standards

- Ensure infrastructure and data systems are available to support the sales function
- Provide feedback to division leadership team regarding customer interactions, market and competitor activity

Qualifications
Education and/or experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Business Management or related field from a four-year college or university
- Seven to ten years related experience, homebuilding experience
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, structuring sales quota goals and meeting revenue expectations
- Must have a vehicle, a valid driver's license and able to drive in daytime or nighttime
- Leadership experience: experience evaluating and motivating teams to achieve goals
- Demonstrated strong managerial and leadership background, providing a successful record of setting, establishing and meeting goals
- Proven success creating marketing strategy and a sales plan; ability to conduct and analyze a market analysis
- Possess exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to train, mentor and motivate
- Demonstrate problem solving skills by using persistence and ability to overcome obstacles
- Proficiency with MS Office and email

- Licensing requirements vary by state
- Successful experience utilizing a CRM to manage sales teams, sales pipeline and achieve closings
