Account Sales Executive – Medical & University Vertical

As an Account Sales Executive in Drury Hotels' Medical & University Vertical, you'll play a key role in driving revenue across our portfolio of 150 hotels. This includes selling guest rooms and meeting space, developing new business, and managing relationships with key decision-makers in the medical and university sectors.

You'll spend approximately 70% of your time engaging with clients and generating sales, while the remaining 30% will be dedicated to administrative responsibilities. This role also offers exciting travel opportunities, with up to 50% of your time spent outside your home city.

Hybrid Work Option: Team members who meet performance expectations are eligible to work remotely two days per week.

What You'll Do

  • Grow revenue within your assigned account portfolio, focusing on mid-tier accounts that utilize three or more Drury Hotels.
  • Develop new business opportunities in the Medical & University market.
  • Provide comprehensive account management and ensure strong market penetration.
  • Collaborate across departments to leverage business insights and drive success.
  • Lead the RFP and bid process, including rate negotiation and implementation.
  • Promote chain-wide partnerships by identifying opportunities beyond single-property engagements.
  • Network within industry groups to boost brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Adhere to company programs and procedures such as Drury United, The Sales Difference, Drury Rewards, Sales Leads, and Group Inquiries.

What We're Looking For

  • Solid understanding of sales techniques and professional business practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational abilities.
  • Effective time management and presentation skills.

Education & Experience

  • Requires a high level of knowledge, skill, and intellectual development equivalent to the completion of a four-year college degree.
  • A college degree related to sales and marketing is highly recommended and valued.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in the Medical & University vertical.

Location Flexibility

This position offers flexible location options. Candidates must reside in a city with a Drury Hotel and have convenient access to an international airport. Preference will be given to those located in the Western U.S., particularly in Colorado or the Phoenix area.
