Parts Outside Sales And Customer Service Representative
The Parts Outside Sales and Customer Service Representative works directly with both inside and outside customers and provides administrative support by entering orders, directing calls, performing order status queries and assisting with other customer-centric questions or requests. Works closely with the Parts Manager, Parts and Service Coordinator and Director of Aftermarket.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Process orders as directed in a timely and accurate manner on behalf of the customer
- Work closely with relevant sales and branch level employees to grow the Parts business in the local market by solving customer's problems quickly and efficiently
- Respond promptly providing quotes, customer support, invoices, order changes and manage customer complaints
- Enter customer orders and ensure timely fulfilment
- Recommend major purchases for quick turn inventory items in accordance with company policy as it relates to the Parts department
- Assist with the annual physical inventory for Parts Department
- Develop and recommend initiatives to improve Branches and overall company results as it relates to the overall services provided
- Answer department phone calls, develop outside customers for parts
- Respond to phone and e-mail inquiries regarding orders, delivery dates, general customer inquiries, etc.
- Direct callers to other departments or team members as appropriate
- Produce, review and/or approve bids, quotes, sales orders and recommend major purchases in accordance with company policy as it relates to the Parts department
- Provide feedback and new ideas for improving the efficiency of the department as well as the overall Company
- Support other Customer Service Representatives as needed
- Update system records for customer master data
Required Credentials
- Minimum of 0-2 year of customer service experience and outside sales – Parts Sales environment preferred
- Experience with large ERP (Order Entry) system preferred
- Experience with Salesforce a plus
- Strong marketing background and understanding of all types of sales efforts
- Detailed understanding of costing, inventory system and product knowledge
- Strong technical background and understanding of all types of related parts activities, detailed planning of workloads, inventory and people
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other related software
