The GPO Account Executive (GAE) is responsible for establishing and developing the contract account management approach to GPO member accounts in the U.S. This role is charged with providing contract education, support, and expertise at assigned accounts nationwide. This role will also strive to ensure appropriate access to Eisai products in the physician office/hospital setting of care. This role works with other members of Market Access to negotiate contracts with the GPO and GPO member accounts to support appropriate product placement and contract opportunities. Responsibilities also include leading bi-weekly business teleconferences, creating business plans, support for product launches and updates, and developing ongoing access metric reports. This position also interacts on a regular basis with other account management teams, Field Sales Management, Value & Access Group, Pricing and Contracting, and Marketing. Responsibilities could also include management of GPOs. This is a field-based position that reports to the Director, GPO.

Responsibilities:

1. Ownership of Contract Management within assigned GPO member accounts.

  • Manage all day-to-day contractual related account management operations for assigned accounts for in-market products and will directly manage certain relationships with assigned GPO accounts as part of assigned responsibilities.
  • Develop account specific business plans, execute against them, and provide quarterly business update.
  • Display high level of financial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure strong and effective business relationships with key internal functions.

2. Securing and/or focusing efforts on contract awareness, education, understanding and expertise at his/her account assignments.

  • Present contract proposals to assigned accounts and deliver supporting educational information in an effort to execute contract strategies.
  • Ensure launch readiness with accounts for Eisai in-market products.
  • Collaborate and assist sales regions, as needed, with contract awareness, education, understanding and expertise on account penetration in key regions.
  • Display high level of financial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure strong and effective business relationships with key internal functions.
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of all Company policies.

3. Administrative responsibilities: monthly reports, expense reports, team meetings, execution of various reports when required.

  • Complete and maintain appropriate reports, records according to company policy.
  • Present business plans and participate in team/company meetings as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of all Company policies.

4. Collaboration with critical internal business partners (Payer Account Executives, Area Business Leaders, Brand and Sales management, Finance, Pricing, Contracting, Patient Services, etc.)

  • Understand the market for products covered under the medical benefit in terms of coverage/reimbursement issues impacting Eisai products, existing and emerging payer policies, competitive reimbursement landscape, trends, pricing, contracting strategies, and potential barriers to provider and patient access.
  • Work cross functionally to foster the development of business capabilities by educating key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure strong and effective business relationships with key internal functions.
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of all Company policies.

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree or higher: MBA/MS (or similar) preferred; PhD, a plus.
  • Minimum (8) years pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience in Marketing, Sales, or Market Access function.
  • Minimum (3) years in pharmaceutical/biotech large account management roles.
  • 3-5 years' experience in GPO or large account management, with a focus on contract and direct account management.
  • The candidate should possess a strong understanding of healthcare dynamics, contract management strategy, knowledge of priority regional accounts/markets and healthcare reimbursement.
  • Solid business acumen, strong customer orientation and documented ability to drive for results are critical.
  • Strong understanding of large account management is critical.
  • Strong business and analytical background.
  • Previous people leadership, direct management experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiating/influencing skills/relationship and selling skills required.
  • Excellent business writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, matrixed, multinational work environment.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Extensive travel (70%) to accounts as assigned, sales and US Market Access meetings, Eisai Corporate Office.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language: The base salary range for the The GPO Account Executive (GAE) - Southeast is from $189,900-249,300. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in: Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
