Sales Specialist

If you are a Sales or software technical professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Houston, the Sales Specialist will provide technical and commercial support for hydrocarbon pipeline and terminal scheduling software solutions. You will partner with sales teams to engage clients, understand operational requirements, and demonstrate how the software addresses pipeline and terminal scheduling challenges. This role is critical to exceed customer expectations and maintain industry leadership.

In this role, your responsibilities will:

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, business processes, and challenges
  • Deliver tailored software demonstrations (live or virtual) that highlight product capabilities and align with customer needs.
  • Develop and configure demo environments to showcase solutions in realistic customer use cases.
  • Respond to technical questions during sales engagements, including RFPs and RFIs.
  • Assist in proof-of-concept (POC) projects by configuring and supporting trial implementations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, translating technical product features into business value.
  • Provide feedback to product management and engineering teams on customer requirements and market trends.
  • Stay current on product updates, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Champion compliance with Ethics, Quality, and Trade policies

You model collaboration across the organization. You have complete knowledge of company products and services, and are able to solve complex technical problems and exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

For this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or STEM related courses
  • 5+ years' experience supporting the scheduling of pipelines or terminals
  • Ability to travel 50% for customer engagements
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to quickly learn and demonstrate complex software solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Dynamic mindset and openness to drive change
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred qualifications that set you apart:

  • 5+ years of experience with scheduling systems (SaaS, ERP, CRM, analytics, AI, cloud platforms). In must have
  • Understanding of integrated systems such as ERP (ex. SAP), measurement systems (ex. Right Angle, nomination systems (ex. T4)
