Position Overview

The Screening Sales Training Manager position is responsible for the commercial training needs regarding screening products including, but not limited to, new hire and on-going continued education programs. These training programs which are focused on screening product training for all on market products as well as evolving pipeline products, will be varied by departmental objectives and will include product specific training, disease-state training, and other professional development programs. This position will collaborate cross-functionally with field sales, the commercial effectiveness team, sales leadership, marketing, and customer service.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate and align all relevant training with senior leadership.
  • Develop and support components of the sales training program related to the promotion of the Exact Sciences oncology products for both newly hired and experienced commercial team members.
  • Organize, design, and facilitate continuing education programs to ensure the medical affairs team is fully knowledgeable in the key focus areas for Exact Sciences; including, but not limited to, product knowledge, customer knowledge, key clinical data, selling environment information, and general market understanding.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to develop and deliver learning opportunities for all departments within the organization that require assistance to attain learning objectives.
  • Update, maintain, and deliver new hire training, as well as address the ongoing learning and development needs of the entire commercial organization.
  • Partner with marketing, medical affairs, and sales leadership to develop interactive and impactful workshops at national, area, and regional sales meetings.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of potential learning gaps through collaboration with peers, sales leadership, medical affairs, marketing, and other partners to design and deploy targeted programs that reduce knowledge gaps and enhance field effectiveness through improvement of competencies.
  • Utilize the learning management system (LMS) to organize new hire and ongoing training initiatives, leverage its capabilities to identify learning gaps and improvements in the learning process.
  • Serve as the bridge between marketing and sales to translate and communicate brand strategies to sales personnel through multiple training mediums.
  • Update job knowledge and stay current on trends through activities; including, but not limited to, participation in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organizations.
  • Apply strong project management skills to aid in the organization, planning, implementation, and execution of learning initiatives.
  • Apply strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Self-starter with results orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities based on changing business needs.
  • Ability to tailor training and presentation contents based on the audience.
  • Ability to be perceived as a leader without having direct authority.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 60% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 33% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 5+ years of sales or commercial experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a pharmaceutical, medical device, or diagnostics environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work cross-functionally with other departments and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of molecular diagnostics and cancer screening tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to distill high-level scientific information into easily understood concepts for an audience with diverse educational backgrounds and experience.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of adult learning principles and ability apply those principles in a medical environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of training, sales management, or specialty/health systems sales experience.
  • Experience in project management and developing and delivering effective presentations.
  • Product Launch or experience selling multiple products in a portfolio.
  • Relevant certifications related to sales training, oncology, or diagnostics.
  • Experience working in a diagnostic sales role responsible for the representation of leadership in a dedicated region.

Salary Range: $109,000.00 - $185,000.00 The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
