Sales Manager

Responsible for managing sales strategies and leading sales forces focused on small, medium, and large customer segments. Sets and executes sales objectives, provides direction to sales leadership teams, and allocates plan targets. Meets and exceeds quarterly activity goals, revenue, and profit objectives for each customer segment. Ensure sales management teams leverage product, customer, and market information to optimize results.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build effective teamwork within sales and support teams and across related functions.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the development and implementation of sales strategies within FedEx domestically or internationally.
  • Support sales regions in planning, training, and administration to ensure continuity and consistency in sales programs.
  • Plan and develop sales objectives and priorities for both global and local accounts.
  • Develop strategic and tactical sales plans as well as associated policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for product/service opportunities identification, SQI performance, development, and competitive market penetration.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
  • May assume additional areas of responsibility as needed.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Ten (10) years' commercial sales and sales management experience, including demonstrated successful management experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Significant experience in multi-account/business planning, formulating, and executing sales strategies.
  • Experience with automated sales systems and their applications.
  • Demonstrated skills in formulating and executing aggressive sales programs and strategies.
  • Previous experience in initiating new or major market expansion sales programs, including the start-up of new sales organizations.
  • Strong basic management, human relations, analytical, managerial, and communications skills.
