The Group Sales Manager for the Canadian and U.S. markets develops and manages the segment to achieve the hotel's revenue and profit goals. He/She is responsible for prospecting, negotiating, and closing contracts while maintaining strong relationships with key clients and partners. In collaboration with various departments, he/she ensures the smooth execution of reservations and delivers an exceptional client experience at Four Seasons Montreal.
Develop and manage the group segment in order to achieve sales and profit targets.
Conduct prospecting calls, regular follow-ups, and marketing efforts in assigned regions.
Travel, including internationally, to solicit and secure contracts.
Negotiate with clients to maximize revenue and profits while meeting their needs.
Collaborate with revenue management to sell at the right price and the right time.
Create and maintain files for groups with high overnight potential.
Organize and lead hotel site inspections with meeting planners.
Promote the hotel's image, generate additional business, and refer clients to other hotels within the group.
Represent the hotel at sales meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
Ensure the smooth execution of group reservations and arrivals.
Participate in the development and execution of projects to increase sales activity.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the local competitive market and partner programs (Preferred Partner, Virtuoso, etc.).
Manage daily requests (calls, emails), ensure file follow-ups in one's absence, and support colleagues when unavailable.
Work closely with all departments, resolve complaints, maintain confidentiality, and carry out any related tasks.
Ability to communicate fluently in French, both spoken and written;
An advanced level of English is required to negotiate with international clients, prepare proposals, contracts, and presentations in English, as well as maintain business relationships with international partners.
Strong stress management skills, with the ability to handle pressure in a positive and effective way;
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment;
In-depth understanding of hotel revenue management;
Organized, creative, proactive, and an excellent team player;
Interest in and ability to provide outstanding service to internal and external clients, as well as suppliers;
Excellent presentation, clear communication in both French and English, and strong interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele;
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct oneself with maturity and integrity at all times, including during external representations of the hotel;
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment;
Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Opera and Delphi systems;
3 to 4 years of prior experience in a similar role;
College degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
