Sales Manager

Reporting to Italy General Manager, the Sales Manager is accountable to grow sales revenue and margins Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) portfolio for the country. The Sales Manager drives a coherent product differentiation and commercial strategy to optimize the use of resources. Responsibilities

Financial Performance

  • Is accountable to set and achieve the quarterly and yearly PDx Product Operating Plan targets (Orders, Sales, Contribution Margin, Base Costs and Operating Margin and Cash for Italy.
  • Is accountable for timely and accurate forecasting of pipeline and sales per the normal reporting cycles within PDx Italy.
  • Provides input to and contributes to the formulation of the yearly business planning cycles for within PDx business unit and Geographical Region.
  • Develops and implements commercial strategies according to PDx targets and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.

Customer, Market and Product Expertise

  • Continuously develop deep product and market knowledge including awareness of current and future trends in healthcare pharma & technology.
  • Continuously updates the understanding of customers changing clinical and/or operational issues and challenges.
  • Understands and analyzes market dynamics and competition to develop business opportunities.
  • Leads, coaches and directs the differentiation (position, value proposition and key messages) of PDx products/solutions/services within assigned territory. Continuously positions PDx portfolio within the relevant GEHC care areas/disease areas.
  • Knows, interacts and develops the strategy with Key Opinion Leaders and Scientific Societies in product relevant care areas; manages professional relationships with key customers.

Sales Management

  • In conjunction with relevant marketing team, determine the market potential for their product/product range or segment and prioritize the opportunities.
  • Is accountable to ensure compliance and execution of the regional sales process and rules of engagement within his/her team.
  • Is responsible for driving optimal operating mechanisms to monitor and track progress of KPIs as well as forecasting performance against Operating Plan, with their teams.
  • Leads the implementation and usage of digital tools (SFDC/Vistex) to monitor strategy execution and performance analytics.
  • Works across the PDx organization and relevant stakeholders (Finance, Medical Affair, Regulatory Affair, Quality, Customer Service and Distribution) to support business strategy execution.

Team Coaching

  • Drives performance management within the team, providing regular operating mechanisms of feedback and coaching and managing the annual appraisal system.
  • Leads and coaches Sales team to reach yearly targets and support people growth in a dynamic organization

Promotion Compliance

  • Adhere to and uphold highest standards of promotion compliance to relevant international and local Regulatory and GE Healthcare Promotional Codes
  • Adhere to all applicable GE and GE Healthcare promotion compliance policies, codes and training requirements
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance promotion concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

Quality Specific Goals

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

Required Qualifications:

  • Education to Master Degree level or related experience
  • Experienced in Business Management or Sales / Marketing in progressive leadership positions within the Healthcare industry with in-depth knowledge of healthcare market and decision makers.
  • Demonstrated business management and resource allocation skills including business plan development.
  • Preferred strong knowledge of GEHC and exceptional knowledge of products and services offered across different P&Ls
  • Exemplary people management, leadership skills, as well as sales coaching & team building skills.
  • Strong business acumen; financial and organizational skills. Proven experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong decision making capabilities.
  • Advanced negotiation, problem solving and influencing skills.
  • High level presentation and interpersonal skills; able to communicate and present ideas to customers in a way that produces understanding and impact that builds effective strategic relationships.
  • Ability to energize, develop, and build rapport, collaboration and influence at all levels within an organization.
  • Act as inspirational leader with optimism, highly approachable and humble.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-tasking, dynamic environment, while maintaining a forward-thinking and customer-first attitude. Fluency in English language. EU work permit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience.
  • Direct and/or Indirect management experience; managing in a matrix organization.
  • Strong track record in high technology and Pharma product sales / solutions
