Technical Sales Representative

Role Overview The Technical Sales Representative will be an integral part of a dynamic sales team and will develop the Building Services range across Polypipe Ireland. This role will involve working with key influencers in this area including specifiers, consultants, M&E Contractors and installers on site. Driven and ambitious, as part of a leading market brand you will seek to influence and hold specifications from early project design all the way through to completion on site. Building on your existing technical background you will assemble a project pipeline to focus on schemes and follow these through to successful completion. Our aim is to add value to the schemes that we are involved with so that we have repeat customers time after time. You will be passionate about solution selling and driven to create value both for the customer and Polypipe to enable the brand to remain at the forefront of the Building Products industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively target and convert opportunities across private and social housing developers, commercial and public sector to develop these into key wins for Polypipe Ireland.
  • Strategically manage and develop the M&E accounts and focus and develop strong partnerships and trust with key individuals. Ensure these accounts are performing and are using the Terrain product where applicable.
  • Identify, track and maintain our total project pipeline – working with technical support and other stakeholders to convert these projects into live schemes
  • Showcase our product portfolio across target specifiers -using CPD's and EPD's to develop awareness and enquiries
  • Gain and maintain technical competence across the Building Services product range
  • Provide technical on-site support to build confidence with the customer base
  • Maintain accurate customer records in the Company CRM System for Specifiers, and Contractors and clients
  • Keep abreast of competitor activity and market conditions/trends through effective market intelligence gathering.
  • Interpret Site Drawings and Regulations to advise on the suitability of the Building products range for various applications.
  • Negotiate with customers to achieve profitable sales objectives set by the company.

Skills and Experience Essential:

  • Ability to provide technical solutions in a complex-built environment.
  • Commercially minded adding strategic value on key projects
  • A collaborative approach to customer relationships, being able to look for and identify win-win solutions.
  • A proven track record of sales growth within the last 5 years
  • Excellent time management, organisational and literacy skills.
  • Experience in the sale of multiple products in a complex environment.
  • A full driving licence is required as visiting customer sites is key for this role, therefore flexibility to meet business travel needs is required across Ireland.
  • Min 5 years in a technical sales role – preferably within construction industry
  • Fully conversant with Office 365 packages and CRM systems

Desirable:

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Experience of CAD and BIM applications
