Business Development Representative Job

In this role, you'll reach out to small and medium-sized business owners who may not yet be familiar with our product to introduce them to Sage. You'll be on the front lines, making the first move to start conversations about Sage. You'll enjoy this role if you already have experience handling leads, are comfortable using BANT or SPIN frameworks, and want to advance your objection handling skills while building your own pipeline of potential customers. You'll represent software that combines decades of trusted expertise with modern tools like Sage Ai. Our software makes work easier and more efficient for our customers – that's why they love it. This is a hybrid role - 3 days per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities

Uncapped earnings: Our compensation structure includes a base salary plus commission. We believe that if you put in the work, you should be rewarded for it. Career growth: We've designed this role as a stepping-stone to an account executive or leadership role, and we love when it happens. Day-to-day summary: Your work is a significant part of your day, and it should feel meaningful and rewarding. At Sage, you'll start with a comprehensive onboarding program designed to help you feel confident and prepared as a BDR. Once you're ready, your day will include a high volume of cold outreach—whether that's calling, emailing, messaging on LinkedIn, or using other creative approaches to engage potential customers. It's important to know that BDR roles typically involve hearing "no" often, so it's essential to approach conversations thoughtfully and focus on building connections. At Sage, our goal is always to support and take care of our customers.

Requirements

• Experience in a lead-generating sales role required • Basic understanding of sales framework (e.g., BANT or SPIN) required • Ability to share examples of how you've handled objections
