Sales Agronomist
We're looking for a driven and customer-focused Sales Agronomist to join our team. This individual will work directly with local growers to provide agronomic support, recommend crop solutions, and drive sales of crop inputs and related services. The ideal candidate is passionate about agriculture, enjoys building trusted relationships, and thrives in a hands-on, field-based role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with growers, understanding their agronomic needs and production goals.
- Provide agronomic recommendations including crop protection, seed, fertility programs, and application timing.
- Conduct regular field scouting to monitor crop performance, pest and disease pressure, and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely product delivery and service.
- Manage and grow a sales territory, meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Stay current on agronomic trends, new technologies, and product knowledge to provide up-to-date guidance to customers.
- Participate in grower meetings, field days, and product demonstrations.
- Accurately document and manage customer interactions, sales, and agronomic recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Ag Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of experience in agronomy, crop consulting, or ag retail sales preferred.
- Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with basic technology and recordkeeping software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in the field regularly.
