Overview

At Davidson Hospitality Group, we believe exceptional hospitality starts with exceptional talent. The Senior Director, Global Sales will be responsible for both solicitation and relationship management for accounts within vertical markets that generate new group business for Davidson-managed properties. This individual is accountable for identifying and booking new customers while cultivating a strong client base for repeat business in the future. The Senior Director will generate leads to local property sales teams and work collectively with them to close the business.

This position requires an expert in sales who is highly skilled at developing client-facing strategies that drive room nights to our properties. The successful candidate will balance client, property, and ownership needs, while being instrumental in delivering customer value and growing existing market share.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new group business that fit within established guidelines of the property
  • Must have the keen ability to understand the competitive landscape and implement strategies to shift business away from competitors.
  • Account Management that is focused on delivering customer value and growing existing market share
  • Research potential accounts and identifies prospects for both hotels.
  • Develop and maintain accurate knowledge of assigned accounts within the defined market segments to include business economics and travel needs; identify new business opportunities within the existing account portfolio; develop revenue, room night and/or market share goals for all clients within the assigned portfolio; recommend and initiate tactics that match customers' growth patterns and travel needs.
  • Utilize tools such as Agency 360 and Knowland Report others to help on targeting accounts for prospecting, development, and participation in budgeting process and marketing plan initiatives.
  • Presents the Davidson portfolio to both existing and prospective customers with the goal of educating customers about our hotels as well as influencing them to book their upcoming programs into Davidson properties.
  • Must be instrumental on delivering customer value & growing existing market share.
  • Ability to work well with on property sellers and offers an inclusive approach.
  • Ability to balance Client, Property and Ownership needs.
  • Develop and maintain accurate knowledge of assigned accounts.
  • Conducts data analysis monthly (by property) to help development and creation of strategic plans to increase revenue opportunities within assigned markets segments.
  • Maintain best in class response time to all leads, inquiries, opportunities, and any client related issues.
  • Work closely with on property sales teams to maximize relationship potential by turning over group leads and offering client introductions.
  • Solicit new accounts through site inspections, familiarization trips, written communication, telephone solicitation, and outside sales calls
  • Plan, organize, and attend trade shows, events, and industry meetings and conduct sales calls including the preparation of events, invitation of clients and facilitating of events and recapping results and ROI.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of hotel sales leadership experience, including 3–5+ years of group sales.
  • Multiple hotel brand sales experience is required, with proven success selling and understanding different brands.
  • Prior global or national sales experience with another hotel management company preferred, but not required.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue goals in assigned market segments.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship building, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
  • Willingness to travel at least one week per month, with flexibility for additional industry events and client meetings.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and adaptable, with a strong sense of urgency and a team-oriented mindset.
