Regional Sales Manager

Hayward Pool Products Canada Inc. is a leading manufacturer of swimming pool equipment. As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Regional Sales Manager in Canada East (Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada).

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing the sales activities for Hayward in a specific geographical area. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing new customers and driving sales throughout the territory. Supports key pool builders/dealers/distributors and works closely with the Hayward Industries sales and service forces to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing remote sales team throughout the region
  • Managing the selection and development of dealers and distributor outlets throughout the region
  • Assigning sales territories and districts to assigned sales representatives
  • Directing staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs
  • Mentoring the Ontario DSM team and supporting direct reports in achieving their territory objectives
  • Coordinating sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
  • Advising dealers and distributors concerning sales, advertising techniques and campaigns
  • Formulating sales plans, which incorporate marketing strategy regarding target market segment within a specific geographic area
  • Analyzing sales statistics to assist dealers/distributors in promoting sales
  • Reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and developing sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company
  • Representing company at trade shows and trade association meetings to promote products
  • Coordinating liaison between customer service department, technical service and others as appropriate
  • Analyzing and controlling expenditures of assigned region to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Developing and implementing an annual sales plan for the region, including sales strategy, to maximize return from the region's assigned accounts/geographic area and to meet the region's sales quotas established by the Director of Sales
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive list and profile of key accounts and contacts (direct and indirect) in a computerized database such as Salesforce
  • Responsible for training sales staff regarding both sales techniques and product knowledge
  • Additional training for dealer and distributor sales representatives. Assist other departments within the organization to prepare manuals and technical publications
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing

Qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 10 years' related sales experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive long distances and travel by plane
  • Personal computer skills and mechanical capability are essential
  • Familiarity with automated control systems, basic electricity, plumbing, hydraulics and/or water chemistry is an asset
  • Language skills: Bilingual in French Canadian a plus
