The territory sales leader ensures the flawless execution of sales and promotion plans at the store level with retail customers in the assigned territory. The territory consists of high-volume grocery chains and wholesale customers. The territory sales leader masters the execution plans of retailers by increasing sales, implementing and maintaining the best promotion and marketing strategies, and ensuring 100% distribution of authorized Hershey items in all retail categories.
Responsibilities include promoting points of sale to customers through consultative business partnerships, developing and managing customer relationships, establishing and maintaining consultative commercial relationships with key customer decision-makers at all levels. Work in partnership with key decision-makers to develop and implement a detailed action plan to increase and improve sales results in their stores, based on sales analysis and best practices. Cultivate a network of influential contacts at all levels of internal and external customers to achieve sales goals in the assigned territory. Use strategic relationships with key decision-makers to influence and negotiate customer assistance in marketing Hershey products. Analyze data and prepare for sales calls by obtaining and analyzing relevant data on stores, products, and the market and creating effective sales tools and presentations for the key decision-maker during the call. Use and complete pre-call planning methods and other company tools. Review and make recommendations to the district sales manager to modify routes to optimize sales efficiency for all sales visits in the territory. Engage in term sales by using predetermined sales techniques with key store and market decision-makers during each retail sales call, using provided data sources, technology, processes, and procedures. Maximize sales and presentation opportunities by conducting store visits and obtaining commitment from key decision-makers on positive results. Adapt sales and marketing to encourage key decision-makers to order additional products to increase sales and obtain the best possible quality for promotional product marketing locations. Administrative responsibilities include completing and submitting electronic or written reports on daily and weekly activities, expenses, competitive activity, account changes, promotions, and all administrative functions in the assigned territory. Marketing: achieve all marketing objectives by executing client-specific promotion plans through effective end-to-end sales and maintaining permanent secondary displays and other presentation vehicles established as part of the retail execution plan. Ensure that new items are put on the shelf and stockouts are addressed and corrected at each call. Develop strategies and improve processes: develop and recommend strategies to improve the overall efficiency of the territory, district, or regional commercial activities. Foster promotional partnerships in the assigned category as needed.
Job Conditions: Ability to lift up to 13 kg repeatedly. One to three years of experience desired in sales with a good knowledge of packaged consumer goods sales techniques. Knowledge and ability to develop and use strategies, practices, and tools to communicate with retail customers and manage daily retail store operations. Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail and freshness of mind. Initiative in pursuing goals and a sense of timeliness. The expected annual base salary range for this position is between $54,160 and $69,700. The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors related to the position, including but not limited to experience, skills, training, and education.
