The Embassy Suites by Hilton South Bend at Notre Dame is perfectly situated in the vibrant Eddy Street Commons, directly across from the University of Notre Dame. The Sales team is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to sell and service all social events—from weddings and birthday parties to receptions, cocktail hours, and more! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about creating memorable experiences for our guests. Be their go-to person for making every celebration unforgettable!

What Will I Be Doing?

As a Catering Sales Manager, you would be responsible for representing the hotel's services and facilities to prospective clients and customers in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Target and solicit new catering business through lead generation, face-to-face prospecting, and relationship referrals

Design, develop, and sell creative catered events

Develop existing business to uncover additional revenue opportunities

Maximize revenue by upselling packages and creative food & beverage

Respond to incoming catering opportunities

Perform site visits, both scheduled and on-demand

Assist with the forecasting all revenue catering revenue categories

Participate in the development and implementation of the vanity site for weddings

Handle customer compliments and complaints through distribution and resolution

Stay on top of industry trends making recommendations to the sales and catering teams

Work closely with the Event Manager to ensure all event details are communicated

Travel primarily outside the hotel to initiate new sales, solicit leads, hold conferences and make sales proposals and presentations

Determine rates and negotiate contracts

What Are We Looking For?

To successfully excel in this role, you should demonstrate the following attitudes, behaviors, skills, and values:

1+ years of sales management experience within the hospitality industry

A positive attitude and strong communication skills

A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service

A team-oriented mindset while also being a self-starter

A genuine passion for proactively targeting and securing social business

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Sales experience within the hotel industry

Catering Sales Management experience with a focus on weddings

Familiarity with Delphi.fdc

A passion for sales and a drive to achieve targets and objectives

Degree-level qualification in a relevant field

Proven experience in negotiations
