Spa Sales Manager

The gorgeous Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui, Grand Wailea, is looking for a Spa Sales Manager to join the Spa Team!

Located on 40 acres of lush tropical gardens, this Forbes 4-Star, AAA 4-Diamond property is consistently ranked among the world's best resorts with 780 rooms, 100,000 square feet of banquet space, and 7 food and beverage outlets. This includes 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a cafe, and in-room dining.

Shift: Various – must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: The annual salary for this role is $90,000 plus quarterly sales incentive bonus and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Average Percent of Time -

35%: Responsibly represent the hotel through conducting conferences, making proposals and other external sales presentations to prospective customers to solicit, explain, negotiate and close hotel sales. Utilize discretion and authority to negotiate contracts and commit company with customers and establish agreements with vendors. 25%: Travel and engage in sales activities outside of the hotel to meet with and entertain customers and prospective customers, participate in tradeshows, and industry and community events to promote facilities, to make proposals, maintain contacts, and to close deals. 15%: Assists in hiring of spa group sales staff with appropriate credentials, experience and with an enthusiasm for guest service. Supervise spa group sales team on a daily basis to include but not limited to training, developing, scheduling, coaching, counseling, conducting performance reviews and administer discipline. 15%: Write proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective local groups for spa treatment date, space and rate availability for group accommodations. Develop and quote prices for same. 5%: Assist in the daily operations of the Spa, as part of the Spa Management Team. Organize and facilitate spa events for the purpose of creating and maintaining a buzz in the local market for Spa Grande's unique services and offerings. 5%: Attend weekly spa departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support business operations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, group-pick up, etc. 5%: Conduct site inspections and property tours with potential customers, visiting local spa establishments as well as other hotel spa facilities.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Basic hotel product and industry knowledge, i.e., staffing, operations, safety, security, fire, police and health codes, hotel policies, city ordinances.

• Basic knowledge of the hotel structure/layout and how all departments interact

• Basic knowledge of various types of set up styles used in the meeting rooms

• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts

• Quantitative processing of data via office machine equipment, mathematical computations and analytical skills necessary to accurately determine and communicate financial, forecasting and space utilization calculations.

• Proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Delphi (or in house sales system), Market Vision, OnQ, InFocus, Internet and Intranet and Optimum Settings (or in house CAD program).

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence and similar written materials.

• Ability to complete a contract in compliance with all checklists, standards and hotel policies.

• Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.

EXPERIENCE Requires a minimum of one year experience in hospitality sales, catering, or event management or one year in a supervisory or management position with banquets, guest relations, guest services, destination management (DMC) or a related guest-contact area of the hospitality industry. Previous experience in spa sales or event planning preferred.
