As an Area Sales Manager, you will be part of a multicultural, diverse, and international team of 21 people at Capacitors and filters, High Voltage Products in Ludvika, Sweden, covering our European sales responsibility.

How you'll make an impact

  • Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations, ensuring an optimal product mix and sound technical and commercial considerations, with well-documented tenders delivered on time and with full cost accuracy.
  • Manage the preparation of all technical, financial, and project management aspects of bids, including defining suitable technologies, pricing structures, cash flow analysis, and engineering and commissioning effort estimates.
  • Coordinate bid and quotation activities, ensuring timely and high-quality input from stakeholders, while managing external support such as translations and governmental approvals.
  • Collect, document, and archive all relevant offer and order information, including assumptions and decisions, while regularly reporting bid status and analyzing outcomes of won and lost tenders.
  • Identify and evaluate risks in bids, quotations, estimates, and contracts, contributing to risk review processes in line with Hitachi Energy policies.
  • Take ownership of gathering and consolidating all technical and cost-related information required to develop complete and competitive proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring a positive sales experience, understanding customer needs, and providing technical support during meetings alongside Sales Managers.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors in collaboration with supply chain, ensure alignment with specifications, promote products through webinars and seminars, and live Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity in all activities.

Your Background

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and bring multiple years of experience, coupled with deep expertise in bid and proposal work.
  • Master's degree in power systems and experience in power systems and/or power quality would be highly meritorious.
  • Attention to detail, proactive, ability to learn, good interpersonal and presentation skills, and result-oriented.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is mandatory, but proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish is an advantage, considering the market to be served is predominantly Nordic.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, for customer visits and marketing activities up to 20% of the year.
  • You are ready to work in an international and multicultural work environment.
