Inside Sales Manager

The Inside Sales Manager will execute the company's short-term and long-term sales strategies in support of its overall mission through the day-to-day management of the Inside Sales Team. This position will have direct responsibility for implementing sales initiatives and tactics resulting in customer retention, new customer acquisition, and sales growth. Responsible for executing strategies and managing performance to ensure an optimal customer experience, as well as overall business objectives. Effectively collaborate with senior management, and other internal departments as necessary, to achieve our business goals. Collect, generate, and report to senior management sales metrics and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the company's long- and short-term sales strategies through the daily management of the Inside Sales Team. Manage performance to meet customer retention, new customer acquisition, sales growth, and profitability goals.
  • Daily management of the Inside Sales Team. Responsible for performance to daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance and sales goals. Provide consistent, clear, and meaningful feedback to colleagues on all areas of responsibility. Identify and address deficiencies and under performance within team. Identify, support, and enable high achievers. Resolve escalated customer issues with discretion, resulting in customer satisfaction.
  • Develop processes, systems, methods, and mechanisms to measure and track sales results, and report on team performance. Understand KPI's and how to accurately measure and report on team performance, both individually and collectively. Manipulate and analyze Sales Force, Crystal Reports, manual reports, and extraneous sales data to provide meaningful insights and accurate reports on team sales performance.
  • Develop and implement solutions to drive production and efficiencies, reduce manual processes and redundancies, and automate processes to improve efficiencies and accuracy. Responsible for creating, implementing, and managing all sales contests and blitzes in support of company sales goals. Develop contests to motivate colleagues, reward results, achieve sales goals, and stay within budget.
  • Communicate and disseminate accurate and up-to-date program information to team, including sales processes, system modifications, internal policies and procedures, and product information.
  • Develop team sales skills and techniques through formalized onboarding and ongoing training programs. Streamline training materials and processes to optimize initial training period. Collaborate with leaders and peers on company-wide needs, as well as joint training sessions with Customer Care.
  • Collaborate with management and business leaders to identify and recommend areas of sales growth.
  • Recruit, hire, manage performance, resolve performance issues, coach, and provide for ongoing colleague development, collaborating with Director – Sales and Marketing and Manager - Human Resources as necessary.
  • Support company strategic initiatives and complete special projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelors' degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of six (6) years sales experience, with at least three (3) years of experience supervising or managing a team.
  • Proven ability to supervise, coach, and mentor a team. Evidence of ability to motivate others, create a results-oriented culture, and achieve sales goals. Proven ability to promote an effective team environment.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound business judgment, and solve problems.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to synthesize data to provide meaningful business insights.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences (children and adults).
  • Proven ability to create, maintain and monitor effective training programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, email systems, CRM applications, and web-based technologies.
  • Willingness to travel by plane and other methods of transportation to conference and customer events throughout the US and Canada.
  • Valid Driver's License, insurance, and eligibility to obtain a valid passport or enhanced driver's license for Canadian business travel as required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fundraising sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Some college level coursework in business or related field of study, or high level of demonstrated sales acumen.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust, and the like.
  • This position requires travel and the willingness to accept reimbursement for out-of-pocket personal and travel expenses.
  • Position requires ability and willingness to work non-traditional and extended hours.
  • The position requires the ability to lift 25–50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
